Cold Laser Therapy

Animal Doctor offers COLD laser therapy for chronic and surgical pain. We accept referrals and provide second opinions.

Description: Cold laser therapy is a noninvasive, safe modality to decrease inflammation and pain after surgery, soft tissue or bone injury, or with chronic pain conditions such as osteoarthritis.

Uses: Cold laser therapy reduces inflammation and pain, allowing your pet to feel better and heal faster. It is often used with other treatment modalities such as medications or injections. It can also be effective for those pets who cannot take oral medications (NSAIDs) due to pre-existing health conditions such as liver disease.

How does it work? Laser therapy uses light waves to stimulate electrons and activate growth, proliferation, repair and migration.

Oral medications

We often combine cold laser therapy with oral medications (such as NSAIDs – Nonsteroid anti-inflammatories and/or joint supplements), as well as injectable medications.

How do we arrive at a diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan?

We begin with a thorough medical history, looking at prior medical records, radiographs, and other testing previously completed. We also perform a complete physical examination, radiographs (repeat or new) and possible blood testing.
